TURNKEY ROLLOUT

Over the years Fstep has executed hundreds of site infrastructure turnkey projects all of them enhancing its reputation and providing credentials for the development of its ongoing operations. Fstep was recently commissioned by a global mobile operator, the implementation on a turnkey basis of 65 sites located in one of most difficult to operate areas in the world, the North Eastern part of DRC. Fstep accepted the challenge to execute these sites within a very tight schedule in order to enable the operator to launch his services on time. One of the major challenges was to deliver the equipment (towers, generators, batteries, power unit etc) from different manufactures around the world to a remote and difficult to access region. Our experienced supply chain management shipped dozens of containers via Mombasa, Kenya and from there, over land- a journey that lasted 3 weeks (!). To handle the arrival of the equipment, and set up operations in this area, Fstep DRC established a regional project office with a warehouse in Goma, the region’s main city.

Creative solutions and often stubborn determination helped overcome logistic difficulties and deploy the sites in spite of the
harsh topographic conditions, the lack of access routes and the remoteness from any civilized support center.

Implementation of the turnkey

The implementation of the turnkey site construction required superior multidisciplinary skills and expertise in all modern aspects of turnkey project execution, including: project management, engineering, logistics, site management, civil works, installation works and commissioning. These activities were performed under the guidance of Leadcom’s extremely professional, highly qualified Project Managers – all of whom have extensive experience in the industry. This project was executed to the customer’s satisfaction, demonstrating Leadcom’s outstanding capabilities, timely and quality execution which was followed by additional orders by the customer in DRC and other countries.
